Goulding reveals popstars gave her advice

Ellie Goulding has revealed that she has been supported by other popstars including Courtney Love, Florence Welch and La Roux's Elly Jackson.

The 'Starry Eyed' singer, who topped the BBC Sound of 2010 poll and won the Brits Critics' Choice prize, admitted that she was offered advice about dealing with fame.

"Times like this can be difficult. There's been massive pressure. There's a definite dark side to all of this.
Courtney has been really motherly, I was shocked. She's been saying how well deserved my Critics' Choice Award at the Brits was. Elly Jackson from La Roux has been telling me to be careful, that she wasn't prepared for how hard the industry can be. I talk to Florence and Daisy Dares You, too. It's good to have people who understand. Lady GaGa was also so nice, saying she knew what it's like for me, that she'd been there. It's been hard for me. It's not like I'm a brain surgeon or anything."

According to midweek sales, Goulding's debut album 'Lights' is on course to top the chart this coming Sunday on March 7.
