Emeli Sandé is "thrilled" to have won the Silver Clef Innovation Award

'Heaven' sensation Emeli Sandé has been named as the lucky recipient of a prestigious prize at this year's Silver Clef Awards.

The talented singer-songwriter will be handed the Innovation Award at the 2012 Nordoff Robins O2 Silver Clef ceremony, which is due to take place on Friday, June 29. Sandé is "thrilled" to be the winner and added:

“I’m also really looking forward to celebrating with everyone at the lunch in June.”

She will be presented with the trophy by British rapper Tinie Tempah, who won the Nordoff Robbins Newcomer award in 2011.

Her single, 'My Kind Of Love', has climbed 9 places to sit at No.25 in the UK Top 40 today in the midweek update (June 13).
