Emeli Sandé to take a break from the limelight

Emeli Sandé has revealed plans to lay low for a number of months after a hectic 2012.

The singer has enjoyed an extremely busy past year, with her debut album 'Our Version of Events' becoming the best selling record in the UK.

She also appeared at numerous high-profile events such as the London 2012 Olympics, facing accusations of overexposing herself.

Speaking to The Sun, Sandé said that she plans on ducking out of public attention for up to six months to work on her new album. The singer said:

"I'm happy to leave the limelight for a bit and lay low after. I'm going to be in the studio working on my next album. I just want to make more music as that's my favourite thing."

The 'Next To Me' star, however, is due to hit the festival circuit this year, with performances at T in the Park and Wireless recently confirmed.
