It’s the end of August, but that is no reason to fret, there is still plenty of summer to be had! It’s time to get out of our heads and have some fun! The biggest roadblock to success, a happy life, or just a good time can be our own self. NYC based artist & producer Katmaz reminds us to just:
"LET IT GO"
After the successful release of “On to the Next” in July, (It was featured on several Spotify playlists, including Fresh Finds) Katmaz is set to release "Let It Go” on August 30th with a music video to follow. It is a powerful Indie Electro Dance song that guarantees a dance party. Opening with a synthesizer and a kick drum, the listener is immediately thrown in to a trance, and pushed into moving their body.
The first time we hear Katmaz sing is in the chorus, an infectious hook that will stay in your head for days. The song continues into a verse that eventually culminates into the chant “We’re not afraid of what we’ve got coming, It’s time to lose control.” There are plenty of surprises in the production, including a huge horn solo to close the track out.
“I wrote the chorus of “Let it Go” almost as a mantra. Some self motivation after being rejected. ‘We’ve got too far to go to, just take it slow. Don’t knock this vibe I’m feeling, Just let it go.’ Those words make me feel invincible and remind me not to take what other do or say too seriously. The verse of the song is inspired by a friend of mine who seems to alway have it together even when the times are tough. She works very hard, but also surrenders herself to fate, and I think that’s the way to live.”
Katmaz is a Brooklyn based artist, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He is currently producing and songwriting for several artists in his studio, and throws a monthly party called the “WaveCave Sessions” showcasing some of these artists. He plans on releasing several singles by the end of 2019.
Katmaz will be headlining the Mercury Lounge in NYC on Friday August 30th. Email MaximHorowitz@gmail.com for guest list.
