The music of multi- talented Retford teenager, Olly Barker will be featured in a new Showcase Sky TV show called ‘Youth of Today.’

The show turns the spotlight on Olly who writes, sings and records his own songs, as well as making amazing videos to accompany them.

Olly, 18, says, ‘I am so excited to be featured in this amazing new show.’

‘Youth of Today’ forms part of a brand new 3 hour show called ‘All About the Music’ which will be broadcast on Showcase TV - Sky Channel 191 - Sunday April 4th. All About The Music runs from 12 - 3pm. Youth of Today airs at 12.45 pm.

‘It’s the best Easter present ever! ‘ said Olly, who is also interviewed in the show which gives an insight into Olly’s musical heroes, his hopes and aspirations.

The show features four of Olly’s songs, all of which deal with different topics and issues.

His song ‘Look to the Stars’ addresses Olly’s concerns for our planet.

‘Janice’ is a quirky warning about the perils of on line dating.

‘The Ballad off AQA’ is about school examination stress

and ‘Pretty Audrey’ is a teenage anthem of angst, humour and frustration.

As well as being a talented artist, Olly is also a popular local NOTTS videographer.

His company, W Digital Media, makes promotional and informative videos for local companies such as Dawn Cragg MBE.

Olly’s videography skills are very much in demand and he has recently completed shooting and editing a stunning video for the opening of the £21million new leisure complex ‘Aspire at the Park’ in Pontefract.

Olly’s heart lies in his music and performance.

Youth of Today is sandwiched between a feature on Rolling Stones’ producer, Chris Kimsey and ‘Live from the Edge', hosted by Mark Radcliffe and with a guest presenter appearance from Craig Charles.

Olly has everything crossed and hopes that his show will bring him to the attention of the music industry.
