Says eJH about the track, “’Violator’ is a revelation. I had been violated. Even though I was still in love and could forgive; I had to base my next set of decisions on that truth. I was shocked at my continued desire to be intimate with someone who ruined my spirit more than anyone. I really wanted ‘Violator’ to be an empowering anthem stuck in everyone’s head. In a subliminal way, I hope this track inspires all of us to reflect on our relationships with people, places, governments, institutions - all of it. Either it’s a revelation like it was for me, that you’re being mistreated, or it’s a moment of celebration to have survived from a situation you thought was safe and ended up not being.”

eJH effortlessly blends industrial rock with indie and electronic for a unique sound all their own reminiscent of FischerSpooner, NIN, Lady Gaga and Perfume Genius. eJH uses theatrics and costuming mixed with biting, honest lyrical topics in both their videos and live performances.

The music video for “Violator” was shot in “The Sunken City” in the San Pedro neighborhood of Los Angeles and showcases eJH’s artistic mystique.

About

Enrique Jesus Hernandez was born in Spanish Harlem, NYC and now resides in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles. Prior to COVID they performed regularly at LGBTQ, activist, “safe-space” and art spaces such as the non-profit Art Share L.A., LGBTQ bars The LASH and Akbar, plus experimental art space supported by The Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts, Human Resources.

At live shows, Hernandez uses movement as well as symbolic set design, costumes, and lights to express their personal journey as a survivor. Enrique creates each of their 'projects' as an event with a unique video, group of songs, dance movements and color scheme.

For fans of artists that touch the far dark regions of the soul with an electronic edge, eJH hopes their art empowers individuals on a journey toward comfort in the human body and mind.
