The City of Chicago is pleased to announce legendary electronic music executive Patrick Moxey as the keynote speaker at the upcoming Chicago House Music Festival & Conference. A free, open to the public event, the keynote will take place on Thursday, September 15 at 8:30 pm at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts at the University of Chicago (915 E. 60th St). For more information on the event, follow here.

An Executive Producer of three GRAMMY Award-winning records, Patrick Moxey is by all accounts a visionary pioneer who has pushed past barriers to bring hip-hop and electronic dance music into the mainstream heart of America where it squarely sits in 2022. For the founder of Ultra Music, Ultra Publishing, Payday Records and Helix Records, it is a full circle moment for Moxey to speak at the University of Chicago. In the 1980s, he attended the school studying literature, history and anthropology while exploring DJing and running a dance music magazine.

Today, Patrick Moxey is President of Ultra Music Publishing and Helix Records which hold offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London, with over 50 employees and affiliated operations in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Asia, and Australia.

Helix Records is focused primarily on electronic dance music, highlights since its formation at the top of 2022 include signings with Snakehips, Two Friends, Netsky, Jamie Jones, Ten City and more. By September, Helix will have released over 50 singles from the likes of Snakehips & Tinashe, Two Friends ft John K, Kaleena Zanders, San Holo, Tom Westy, Digital Farm Animals, Marshall Jefferson and Model Man.

Says Moxey, “I’m very excited to be back to my indie roots, 100% independent across 10 major territories, and best positioned to serve artists and songwriters whose projects we really believe in.”
