A 19 year old singer/songwriter from Gloucester has been empowering teenagers across the South West and South Wales as part of a national schools tour. Chris Smee has been visiting schools across the region over the past 2 weeks as part of a drug education tour. The key message of the tour supports programs developed by charity D.A.R.E. which encourages young people to make healthy lifestyle choices. So far this month Chris has performed to over 2500 young people across nine schools, with a further 13 schools already confirmed for the Autumn Term.

Tipped as the Southwest's very own Ed Sheeran, Chris' soulful tone and intense lyrics have been captivating sell out audiences young and old. Currently studying Popular Music at The University of Gloucestershire, Chris started performing when he was a student at Chosen Hill School. Outside of his studies Chris was an active member of the locally based Rock Foundry, a music performance school set-up by his parents Nick and Ceri Smee providing music education for the local community. Having just celebrated it's 10th anniversary, Chris is now an ambassador for the great work The Rock Foundry has done for hundreds of local children over the last decade.

Last year Chris signed with The Famous Company to develop as a solo artist. Since then he has performed at a number of radio roadshows around the UK plus live music venues in London and Bristol including the world famous Kensington Roof Gardens, owned by Richard Branson. Later this summer Chris will be filming the music video for his new single 'Late Nights', taken from his upcoming album 'Ability' which is set for release at the end of this year.
