Created in 2019, Chords Of Eve is the brainchild of American multi-instrumentalist Atlas Cage and features a number of international female vocalists. Described as “futuristic psych pop”, the bands’ fusion of alt-pop, electro-pop, and trip hop has attracted critical acclaim.

Taking influence from the spacey keyboards and airy vocals of Phantogram, sonic swaddling of Portishead with just a dab of groove from K. Flay, genre bending Chords of Eve compliment their unique sound with striking cinematic sci-fi inspired visuals to help tell their stories.

Following the release of their debut 5 track EP last year, the band embraced the restrictions imposed as a result of the global pandemic to create a full length LP which is set for release later this year. Written and produced by Atlas in Austin, Texas, with vocals recorded in the home studio of Spanish singer and producer Nekane in Bilbao, Spain. With mixing by Yoad Nevo of Nevo Sound Studio in London (Sia, Goldfrapp, Moby) and Sonic Ranch veteran Charles Godfrey of Scary American studios (Sublime with Rome,Hanson, Yeah Yeah Yeahs).

Speaking about their latest release, Atlas said, “’Butterfly Machine, you make an ugly world pretty.” That line sums up the message behind this track. Butterfly Machine was written and recorded during a time when we all were under a huge amount of stress (Covid, politics, social unrest), and I found that sleep became a different kind of necessity that I longed for - a refuge that allowed me the peace to process all that was going on, and wake up in the morning and keep going. It is that nightly escape that lets us all come back to ourselves. In dreaming you can be yourself, feel more at ease. The world’s problems don’t go away, but our remarkably powerful and adaptive minds let us alchemize those problems into something different.”

’Butterfly Machine” is out now on all major platforms. The full length LP of the same name is set to be released in late summer 2021.
