With breakup songs like Adele’s “Go Easy on Me,” Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” and Forest Blakk’s “If You Love Her” topping the charts, the world loves a good emotional breakup song and “Where Do I Stand” by Chris Sloan, is the next great heartbreak anthem.
“Where Do I Stand” is incredibly personal and honest, as I wrote this during a very dark and internally tumultuous moment in my life, and writing about everything I was experiencing was the only way to steer through it. If you have navigated through your own darkness, endured monumental heartbreak, or were forced to accept that what once was, will no longer be, then this song is for you.” says Seattle-based singer-songwriter, Chris Sloan.
“Where Do I Stand” was written and recorded at the legendary Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, WA, and premiered on Vent Magazine. Sloan is a singer-songwriter with attention-grabbing, raspy vocals. He has been the lead singer of several bands, including Mercy Parker, Mudsill Widows (Alongside Ben Smith, the drummer from rock and roll hall of fame band Heart), and SideDown, performing on stages since he was 18. He is a breakthrough artist whose solo career has the music industry buzzing.
Sloan also recorded his music video and a new live version of the single “These Walls” at the famous London Bridge Studios in Seattle, WA with legendary producer Johnathan Plum. Both versions of the song are available on all streaming platforms. Sloan’s unique gritty voice sets him apart not only as an artist but as a polished singer and songwriter as well. His songs stretch across genres from acoustic, indie, pop, and alternative mixed with a bit of rock.
