Fifth Harmony 'flattered' by female One Direction tag

Fifth Harmony say they are pleased when people call them the female version of One Direction.

The girl group were formed on the 2012 series of the US X Factor, which echoes One Direction's creation on the 2010 UK series.

This has led some people to suggest that they are the girl equivalent of the boyband and it seems that tag is something the quintet are happy to have.

Ally Brooke told the San Antonio Express News: "They are superstars and so massively successful, so we don’t feel anything near them at all. When we get those comparisons, it’s pretty flattering.

"But when I think about what we could be, I cannot believe it. I auditioned a little over two years ago, and with everything that’s happened since, who knows how far we can go?"

Brooke meanwhile also recently opened up in a tour blog about the inspiration they receive from meeting fans.

She said: "We meet our excited fans and greet them with big hugs and smiles. They are some of the sweetest, loving, caring, beautiful spirits I have encountered. Always so cute and cuddly! I can't really describe how wonderful it feels to hear how much someone loves and supports you and your dream."
