Fifth Harmony share touching and supportive message with the trans community

A couple of weeks ago, Fifth Harmony's Camila Cabello shared a picture of herself on Instagram posing with a transgender fan who renamed herself after the singer

Now, Cabello has opened up about meeting Camila Joe in a new interview with MTV News and both she and the rest of the 5H beauties had a touching message for the trans community:

"It literally made my life. Basically, a fan of ours - her name is Camila Joe now and her name (before) was Joey - and she told me I inspired her to have the courage to transition. She told me she was changing and that she had been taking hormones. I saw her now and she was Camila Joe and she told me she changed her name because of me. She was so beautiful and there was such a light about her."

"I posted about it because lately we've been getting a lot of response from the transgender community [...] so I think it's really important to show how supportive we are of that community."

Lauren Jauregui added: "The number one thing we promote is to be who you are and to love who you are, no matter what that means. We support that in every aspect. I get chills thinking about us helping people to become who they are. Be confident and love. That's what this world is about - love."
