Fifth Harmony on girl power: 'We encourage people to empower each other'

Girl group Fifth Harmony are enjoying amazing success in the music world at the moment and they have now spoken out about women in the industry, and how females can be just as powerful as men where their artistry is concerned.

Speaking to 360 magazine, member Ally Brooke Hernandez explained that it is tough to be taken seriously and to enjoy longevity in the music industry as a woman, but she will fight for what she wants and the other 'Sledgehammer' beauties share the same empowered mentality: "The music industry is more male-dominant, but now there are so many incredible female artists. We females can accomplish our dreams, and you can build an empire for yourself and you don't have to be held back by any standards of any others."

She went onto add that last year's 'I'm A BO$$' campaign is an example of how she and the rest of 5H want to encourage their fans to support and be proud of each other: "It was more for last year, but we still encourage people to empower one another in general, not just temporarily. It's a template for the future and beyond this."
