Fifth Harmony: 'Not winning the 'X Factor' stopped us getting complacent'

Girl group Fifth Harmony have opened up about the amazing career they've enjoyed so far and admitted that they aren't bothered by the fact that they didn't win 'The X Factor' because it drove them to want to make it even more.

Speaking to the New York Post about their journey so far, songstress Lauren Jauregui confessed that not winning the 'X Factor' ended up being a motivator for them as it made them all want to work harder in order to carve out a successful career for themselves:

“Coming third stopped us getting complacent too early. It meant we had to prove ourselves that much harder.”

She went onto talk about her and the other 5H girls' relatability, adding that they want fans to see them as equals: "Celebrities are supposed to be perfect and unattainable all the time. But we try to show that we’re not, because that makes us more real.”

Dinah Jane Hansen added: "We want our fans to think of us more as friends. Most of us are teenagers and we’re figuring out life at the same time as our fans. We want to show them what they’re worth.”
