Fifth Harmony: 'Where you come from doesn't define where you can go'

Girl group Fifth Harmony have a lot to say about empowerment and finding your own strength, and opened up about these topics in the October issue of Latina magazine.

Songstress Camila Cabello told VH1 that you're never truly limited by your background

"Where you come from doesn't define where you're going to go. I grew up in a third-world country where there was no Internet and no hot water, and you grow up and you think you're really limited to your circumstances, so I think it's important to know that you define your path, you define your future."

Member Ally Brooke Hernandez added that it's important to realise and embrace your worth so that you can fully use your voice: "Don't be afraid to speak up. I think with people in general, there's always a way to talk and communicate respectfully ... you can say anything you want, but it has to be under the 'respect umbrella,' and I know it's scary, because I've been there, and you just get really scared and are like, 'No, I can't speak my mind 'cause I'm scared,' but it's OK, you can do it."
