5H's Normani Kordei: 'We're real women with real ideas, and we're being heard'

Fifth Harmony's Normani Kordei has opened up about being an 'X Factor' group and confessed that she and the other girls felt a need to prove their worth

She told Perez Hilton that 5H felt as though people needed to be shown that they were to be taken seriously as the stigma of being a manufactured act is a hard thing to contend with:

"We had to prove ourselves coming off of 'The X Factor' because people automatically see a manufactured girl group. But we're real women with real ideas, and we feel like we're actually being heard now, and I think that you guys can see that from an outside perspective."

When asked about having such a young fan base, Kordei explained that she and the other members are mindful of what they say and do but they are still growing up themselves:

"That's always kind of tricky because we're growing... we do have tiny fans... we are growing women and I think that comes with growing up and finding yourself. We do see ourselves as role models, but at the same time it's really cool to see how we've grown... it's just... life!"
