Fifth Harmony back security staff after inappropriate touching allegations

Fifth Harmony have issued a statement in defence of their security team after they were accused of inappropriately touching a female fan.

The group were forced into taking to Twitter on Monday (July 4) to back their staff.

They said a recent allegation involving a member of their the team touching a fan was a lie.

Fifth Harmony added that they have to be mindful of their personal safety when out and about, especially after the murder of Voice contestant Christina Grimmie in June.

They said: "We have really busy working and making sure you guys have as amazing an experience with us as possible.

"But we feel like sometimes you guys forget that there are only 5 of us versus the hundreds of you. Our security team is set up and in place to protect us and out privacy when people go beyond normal boundaries."

The group said the alleged incident, which they witnessed, took place when a fan "lunged" towards singer Lauren Jauregui's room.

They concluded: "We're sorry for any inconvenience, but we do not appreciate people lying about our team and costing people their jobs just so they can get extra attention from us."
