Foo Fighters' Sonic Highways TV series to air in the UK

The BBC have snapped up rights to show Foo Fighters' upcoming documentary series Sonic Highways in the UK.

The US rockers filmed the series whilst they recorded their new album of the same name.

The show will focus on the group as they cut a song to tape in a different city across America.

Sonic Highways will air in the US on HBO, but the BBC have now confirmed that they will show the programme in the UK from October.

The first two episodes will feature on BBC Four, with the next three on the BBC iPlayer service. The last two episodes will revert to BBC Four.

The opening show will air on October 26 and BBC Four Channel Editor Cassian Harrison commented:

"BBC Four is renowned for its music programming and I am delighted we have acquired this innovative series that takes viewers into the very roots of popular music, in an epic nationwide odyssey."

The album 'Sonic Highways' will be released on November 10.
