Foo Fighters on their new album: 'It'll be pretty f***ing fun and different'

Legendary rockers Foo Fighters have revealed that while they don't want to give too much away about their upcoming new album, they are excited about the project because it will be so "fun".

Member Chris Shiflett (pictured left), who plays guitar with the band, told FasterLouder.com.au that the record won't be what their fans are expecting from them:

"I can't go into too much detail, but... I'm excited about it. Dave [Grohl]'s got a bunch of new songs and the way that we're gonna make the new record - like, the approach for it - is gonna be pretty f***ing fun. And different."

He added that frontman Dave Grohl is very innovative where making new music is concerned so it was always going to be an interesting album: "I feel like Dave's always looking for ways - when we go to make records and we tour - to keep things exciting and keep things inspired and fun. I think he's got some good ideas for this next one."

Back in June, drummer Taylor Hawkins described Grohl's brain as "working overtime" on ideas for fresh new material: "We're getting started. We're getting our ideas together. Dave (Grohl) has his brain working overtime, like usual, and he's got a lot of great ideas, both musically and conceptually -- none that I can speak of at this moment, but it's gonna be great. It's gonna be cool."
