Girls Aloud: "We used to shout at people to buy our CDs"

Girls Aloud have revealed the lengths they used to go to in order to promote their music.

The pop group are currently reuniting for their 10th anniversary and they are due to tour arenas around the UK and Ireland next year.

However, it seems everything wasn't quite so rosy for the quintet, who formed on Popstars: The Rivals.

Speaking in documentary Girls Aloud - Ten Years At The Top, Nicola Roberts said that they used to harass people to buy their material. She said:

"We were driving around and when we stopped at traffic lights we would wind down the windows and shout at people to buy our single."

Cheryl Cole meanwhile said that it was often "intense and crazy hard" during Girls Aloud's initial period. She said:

"It was intense and crazy hard work, there was always a drama of some description. There were five girls, there was always a drama. If someone's on one for some reason you know to avoid that person, we never exploded though."
