Global, the Media & Entertainment group, today (Thursday 27th February) revealed that Capital Breakfast’s Roman Kemp and Classic FM and Smooth presenter Myleene Klass will return to host The Global Awards 2020 with Very.co.uk. Smooth’s Kate Garraway also joins the hosting line up for the very first time.

The star-studded ceremony celebrating the biggest stars of music, news and entertainment takes place at London’s Eventim Apollo Hammersmith on Thursday March 5th. Set to take the stage are some of the world’s greatest artists including Camila Cabello, Ellie Goulding, Tones and I, Aitch, Stereophonics, Russell Watson and Aled Jones.

The awards bring together all Global’s radio stations; Capital, Heart, Classic FM, Smooth, Radio X, Capital XTRA, Gold and LBC. The categories reflect the music, programmes, podcasts and news aired on Global’s radio stations and the Global Player app.

The public and a panel of industry experts have voted for their winners in a host of popular categories across a wide range of genres. The categories also include an award for Best Podcast for the very first time. Shortlisted artists include: Aitch, Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Lewis Capaldi, Lizzo, Sam Smith, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Stereophonics and Stormzy.

Speaking about hosting The Global Awards with Very.co.uk for the first time, Smooth’s Kate Garraway, said:

“Following the massive success of The Global Awards over the past two years, it is such an honour for me to join the fabulous Myleene Klass and Roman Kemp to co-present this year’s ceremony. What makes The Global Awards so unique is that we’re celebrating the stars of music, news and entertainment across the night – and with performances from artists such as Ellie Goulding, Stereophonics, Aled Jones and Russell Watson, it promises to be a very special evening!”

Smooth and Classic FM presenter, Myleene Klass said:

Voting for The Global Awards 2020 with Very.co.uk has now closed. Fans of music news and entertainment can watch the star-studded ceremony from 7:30pm on Thursday March 5th by downloading Global’s world class entertainment hub – the Global Player app – and selecting ‘Global Awards’ in the bottom menu.
