Berlin-New York trio Champyons release the long-awaited debut album "Cha Cha Cha". Inspired by the great collectives of the pop-art and early hip-hop era, Champyons combine R'n'B, rock and electronic elements to form a collage of pop culture and musical influences. Traditional song structuring is combined with sample-infused beats to create an album pushing the boundaries of classic genres. To celebrate the release of the album, the band reveal their next video instalment with "Oceans".

Bio
The trio Champyons, consisting of Kptn (Vox/Keys), Flx (Bass/Guitar) and Tweety (Drums) first received international attention by cooperating with EDM-Heavyweight ZEDD on their song “Changes” and contributing it for the project “Skrillex presents: Free Treats”. In the following years, Champyons paved their way into the international music scene working between Europe, New York, and London. While creating new music and passing ideas from laptop to laptop in the most variant places, on the train or while flying, the three musicians slowly moved away from their rock music roots and evolved their sound into more creative realms using sample cutting, drum looping, and experimental songwriting. An important milestone in the bands' history marks the self-released single “Roaming in Paris” in 2014, connecting classic storytelling à la Leonhard Cohen with modern R’n’B elements.

After acclimating to Berlin’s pulsating music scene the band signed a record deal with the label Embassy of Music and started working on their first long-play record in 2016. For the genesis of the album, Champyons decided to independently produce their debut. In the mid of 2017 the work on the album mix in collaboration with the critically acclaimed producer Axel Reinemer (Rihanna, Jason Derulo, Jazzanova) was finished. At the same time, the trio met with top-class contemporary artist Michael Sailstorfer who designed iconic sculptures as the band’s visual trademark.
