Hailee Steinfeld makes directorial debut with video for "I Love You's"

Academy Award® nominated actress and multi-platinum recording artist Hailee Steinfeld has made her directorial debut with the official video for her new single, “I Love You’s”.

Co-directed alongside Sarah McColgan (Charli XCX, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey), the beautifully stark video finds Steinfeld confined in a room alone.

Steinfeld explains: "I had gone through a break up and felt for the longest time that I was in this confined space.

"It took some time but I eventually realised that even in a confined space, you can find yourself, you can learn to love yourself again, and you can give yourself the opportunity to heal. And that’s what this song and video mean to me.

"Eventually the walls can come down and everything will be ok."

The star released “I Love You’s” last Thursday on March 26, after teasing the new single on social media earlier that week. The song has already amassed over 3.2 million streams worldwide and was heralded as an “upbeat ode to Annie Lennox’s iconic ‘No More I Love You’s’” by Entertainment Weekly.

“I Love You’s” is the lead single from Steinfeld's forthcoming two part project. Part 1 will feature five songs, including “I Love You’s” and “Wrong Direction,” and is set to be released next month on May 1.
