Haim's tour health tips: "Take vitamins, eat greens, drink juices"

American guitar trio Haim have been discussing the importance of staying fit and healthy whilst on tour.

Haim – made up by sisters Este, Alana and Danielle – gave Q magazine some tips about how they keep themselves in top shape.

Alana Haim said: “I'd love to think we were the Rolling Stones back in the day, getting drunk and partying all the time, but we're not. We're too scared to get sick.”

She went on: “So do your B12 shots. We've been on tour for two years and finally cracked the health code; take vitamins, eat greens, drink juices. If you're not healthy, you can't play a good show.”

Vitamin B12 shots – supplements that are said to boost energy levels – are administered as an injection into the backside.

Speaking specifically about the injections, Alana stated: “B12 shots go in the ass, yes. Does it hurt? I have a cushion, it's not really a problem for me.”

Another on-the-road worry for the 'Falling' group is weight gain. Alana explained:

“'Every band gains 10 pounds on tour. After the show, everything is closed, you're fuelled by McDonalds so in hotels we run. Work out, keep fit. Shorts are my stage uniform and my favourite shorts are becoming too small. Este always says you gotta keep that ass tight.”

Haim have a busy summer schedule of live shows including supporting Kings of Leon at Milton Keynes Bowl in June, and festival slots at T in the Park and Latitude.
