Hurts reveal dole struggle

British synth-pop duo Hurts, who are set for a summer of festival mayhem, have revealed their struggle to get to where they are now and explained that even when they were broke their time was dedicated to music.

Speaking to Absolute Radio, the Manchester based pair explained they were on the dole for a period of time and that it was hard to get noticed:

"We sat and did nothing for years on the dole so this is like we're making up for lost time!"

"I like to think that you make your own luck. We worked very hard even when we were on the dole, everyday we were working on our music and we were only on the dole to facilitate writing music."

The 'Wonderful Life' musicians, Theo Hutchcraft and Adam Anderson, will perform at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight Festival, V Festival and T in the Park this summer before leaving for Europe where they will take the stage at more outdoor music events.
