Callum Rafferty Combines Initiative With Talent At 16

Callum Rafferty is 16.  Sure, he likes all the usual things that 16 year old lads from London like.  Like a lot of 16 year olds he writes and performs music.  But he is different.  As a musician he is not starting out, aspiring, or finding his feet.  He is out there, doing it, getting noticed and showing the UK that ‘the youth of today’ is a term to be associated with talent – and initiative.

He has just bagged support spots for up and coming British buzz act Emma Stevens alongside dates of his own on a UK tour, and a spot performing at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, after bunking school to secure a booking agent.  Not one to miss an opportunity, he has strong support from family and friends in pursuit of his dream; to make it as a singer-songwriter, a path he has followed since writing his first song at age 7.

Callum has performed hundreds of shows at venues including the O2 and Rochester Castle (in front of 5,000 people), and has had the honour of playing for Children in Need at Glyndebourne Opera House.  Live, he builds tracks using a loop pedal, keyboard and guitar.  On record he plays all instruments himself, including drums and bass.

‘Speak Now’ is Callum’s first single release on 31st March and will certainly not be the last for this young and talented artist, who already has such good direction and ability:

“I am continuing to write material that I am really proud of and I look forward to performing my songs to you at my next show!”
