Moulettes Take To The Road For Nizlopi’s Last Shows For Two YearsOn Tour November 2016Brighton based Indie-Folk five-piece Moulettes head out on their nationwide co-headline tour with Nizlopi throughout November. The forward-thinking band will be showcasing brand new material as well as a special live collaboration with No.1 Artist Nizlopi. This tour is made all the more of a spectacle for both sets of fans after Folk/Hip-Hop duo Nizlopi recently announced that this would be their last tour for two years. A statement from the pair that secured No.1 spot in the UK charts with the single “JCB Song” announced: “Nizlopi will not be touring in the next two years, and do not plan to release an album in that time either”. With Nizlopi reflecting on their loyal fan base: “It’s such a joy, privilege and honour to have an attentive, caring, audience to sing with us”, this tour is set to be something very special.
Since the success of ‘Constellations’ (No.7 Indie Charts, Spiral Earth Best Album 2014), Moulettes have been joined by Bajan Irish Londoner Raevennan Husbandes on Electric Guitar and Vocals and are well underway with the writing and recording their 4th album (Released Spring 2016). Following their recent tours in Canada and Europe, the band are looking forward to announcing some new special guests in Pop, Prog and Folk for the coming album set to be a concept album about strange creatures. Expect 3-part-harmony Female Vocals, amplified Cello, distorted Bassoon, Auto-Harp, Guitar, Drums, Bass and Synths taking the listener to an incomparable Alt-Pop/Rock/Folk universe.
Singles from their eponymous release in 2010 (****Mojo), their follow up 'The Bear's Revenge' in 2012 (****The Guardian) and third studio album 'Constellations' (Best Album: Spiral Earth Awards) have been played by several DJ's on BBC6 and BBC2 (Cerys Mathews, Mark Radcliffe, Mary Anne Hobbs, Bob Harris, Tom Robinson, Laura Laverne). Moulettes’ eclectic style of Indie-Pop testifies to the scope of their creativity; which has drawn together such a varied ensemble of featured artists including legends Arthur Brown (God of Hellfire) and Herbie Flowers (Lou Reed, Bowie), as well as contemporaries Blaine Harrison (Mystery Jets), The Unthanks, Emma Richardson (Band Of Skulls) and many more.
Playing music together at school in Glastonbury, residencies on Tin Pin Alley, multitudes of festivals (Glastonbury, Bestival, End Of The Road, Green Man) and relentless world touring has seen Moulettes become renowned for their breath-taking live shows. The band’s rise has seen them share the stage and studio with well-known artists from across the board in Folk, Prog, Pop and Rock, including Mick Jagger, Nick Cave, Seasick Steve, Bonobo, Gentle Giant, Mumford and Sons (Ted Dwane was a founding Moulette), Dave Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Bellowhead, The Levellers, and many more.
