Katherine Kelly and Molly Windsor cast in four part drama, Cheat, written by Gaby Hull and produced by Two Brothers Pictures

Katherine Kelly and Molly Windsor take the leading roles in ITV’s gripping, psychological thriller, Cheat.

Awarding-winning indie, Two Brothers Pictures, will produce the emotionally affecting four-part miniseries, which begins filming this month. Screenwriting newcomer Gaby Hull skillfully writes each of the episodes.

At the heart of the drama is the dangerous relationship between university professor Leah (Katherine Kelly), and her student Rose (Molly Windsor), when, what begins as a seemingly open and shut case of academic deception, quickly spirals out of control, ending in fatal consequences, and triggering a devastating sequence of events that threaten to engulf them both. With two fiercely intelligent minds unwilling to back down, Cheat will keep audiences guessing from the start, exploring just how far we’re prepared to stand up for what we believe, and at what cost.

Katherine Kelly is known for her work in Strike Back, Him and The Night Manager, whilst Molly Windsor recently won a BAFTA for her role in Three Girls.

Tom Goodman-Hill (Humans, The Secret Agent, Mr Selfridge) also joins the cast as Leah’s university professor boyfriend, James, whilst Lorraine Ashbourne<//b>> (Unforgotten, The Interceptor, Silent Witness) and Peter Firth (Spooks, Strike Back, Victoria) play her parents Angela and Michael. Adrian Edmondson (Bancroft, Retribution, War & Peace) takes the role of Rose’s father, William.

Commented Polly Hill: “Cheat is a fiendishly engaging four part drama which I’m delighted to commission from screenwriting newcomer, Gaby Hull. It’s a tense and taut thriller packed with intriguing plot that promises to have audiences on the edge of their seat. I’m thrilled we’ll be working with Two Brothers Pictures on this series.”

Two Brothers Pictures, Harry and Jack Williams will executive produce the drama, which goes into production during the early part of 2018.

The pair commented: “Cheat is a gripping and brilliantly written drama debut, and we’re delighted to be working with Gaby bringing this story to the screen.”

Cheat will be produced by Lydia Hampson (Fleabag, Wonderdate) with Christopher Aird (Retribution, Clique, Call The Midwife) as Executive Producer. Louise Hooper (Lucky Man, Cold Feet, Vera) will direct each of the four episodes. Filming commences during June 2018 in Hampshire and Hertfordshire.

Writers and producers, Jack and Harry Williams established the indie, Two Brothers Pictures, in early 2014 to produce quality drama and comedy for the UK and international audiences.

All3Media International will distribute the drama globally.

Commented Louise Pederesen, CEO international for All3Media: “As the international distribution partner of Two Brothers Pictures, we are delighted to announce that Sundance Now will be our US pre-sale partner on Cheat. We are really excited by their enthusiasm for the series. Cheat is a fabulously taut thriller – pivoting around the relationship between two strong but complicated women. We will be launching the series at MPCOM and are confident the series will attract more partners as production continues over the summer.”
