CHRISTMAS ON ITV 2019

TUNE INTO ITV THIS FESTIVE SEASON

ITV has a stocking full of Christmas and New Year treats for viewers this year, including more drama on the Cobbles, gossip from the Woolpack, entertainment shows, returning Dramas, Christmas specials of viewer favourites and some fantastic films for all the family.

In the run up to Christmas Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix are back together as this time we see the trio head to Morocco in Gordon, Gino and Fred: A Christmas Roadtrip (23rd Dec), as they take on more food challenges on this new road trip.

Take Me Out (14th & 28th Dec) turns on the lights once again for series 11 and this Christmas viewers will also be treated to two themed specials. The first will be a love letter to the 80’s, with the girls rocking shoulder-pads and the boys decked out in windbreakers. With all the bright colours, extravagant hairstyles and synthesised music from the iconic era, viewers will be taken on a nostalgic joyride with Paddy and the flirty thirty. The second themed special will put the brave men and women of the emergency services front and centre, those whose busy work-lives mean they find little time to date. Firefighters, paramedics, police officers – they’re all lining up for a chance at being airlifted out of the studio and being sent straight to Fernando’s.

There will be festive specials of Celebrity Catchphrase (22nd Dec), The Sara Cox Show at Christmas (21st, 22nd, 28th and 29th Dec), James Martin’s Saturday Morning at Christmas (21st and 28th Dec), John & Lisa's Weekend Kitchen (22nd and 29th Dec), Tenable All Stars Christmas Special (29th Dec), Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? It will be an eventful Christmas in ITV’s soaps this year, for Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Christmas is all about family and in Emmerdale it’s no different this Yuletide.

On Christmas Day, as The Tates gather to carve the turkey at Home Farm, there is pandemonium when Graham walks in and delivers a devastating revelation, shattering relationships.

Elsewhere, David receives a festive surprise that will set tongues wagging and change lives forever and as the bells ring in for the New Year, we see Victoria go in to labour with her baby.

In Coronation Street the residents are dreaming of a White Christmas, but dreams can all too easily turn to nightmares, and this will be one festive season they will never forget….

When a festive fairground pops up in Weatherfield there is much excitement on the cobbles, but the bleak half hearted attraction fails to deliver. Step forward Michael Bailey, who vows to give his family and the other neighbours a snowy, fun filled experience complete with stalls and rides.

Spirits are high with the reopening of the factory and there’s fun to be had as the Platts arrange an elaborate special birthday surprise for David at the fairground with Shona as his present.

But Gary’s bid to leave his villainous past behind has upset more than one person and the scene is set for a seasonal showdown that puts the lives of some of our favourite residents in peril.

In The Big Soap Quiz (19th Dec) we see some of the cast of Coronation Street and Emmerdale battle it out once again to see who knows their soap the best.

The New Year sees Sarah Parish return as Bancroft (1st, 2nd and 3rd Jan) in the second series of the psychological thriller. Revered by colleagues and delivering impressively low crime figures, Bancroft is riding a professional high as she heads up a new merged police service as Detective Chief Superintendent. However, this success comes at a great cost as she’s left isolated and estranged from her beloved son Joe (Adam Long) and facing increasing pressure from her dangerous pact with crime boss Daanish Kamara (Ryan McKen).
