Actor and singer Jason Donovan has revealed today that he is the fifth celebrity skater confirmed to take part in Dancing on Ice 2021.

Jason was live on This Morning to confirm the news that he will be joining the competition alongside the already announced Myleene Klass, Joe-Warren Plant, Denise Van Outen and Faye Brookes.

In conversation with Holly and Phil, Jason told them he'd signed up because "I've always been a big fan of winter sports, whether it's ski-ing, skating, snowboarding...après ski-ing!" He went on to say "My daughter Molly is very excited about me doing shapes on the dancefloor or maybe not...depending on how it goes! And also the opportunity to spend a Sunday night with you guys."

He added: "Skating is all about balance and confidence. I’ve done a little bit of skating in my youth, in Australia surprisingly in the heat of an Australian summer. I’ve surfed, I’ve skied a lot so I guess I’ll bring a little bit of that confidence."

Returning to ITV in the new year, each week twelve celebrities will skate live with their professional partners as they try to impress both the panel and the viewers who will ultimately decide who wins the show.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby once again return to present the show and the expert panel of Torvill and Dean, John Barrowman and Ashley Banjo will all resume their roles as judges.
