ITV has announced the recommission of detective drama Grace for a sixth series starring John SimmFilming begins during the summer of 2025OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY ITV Press Centre Published: May 6, 2025 -- John Simm will reprise his role as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace for four standalone films (4 x 120 minutes) set in the familiar surroundings of Brighton. Filming begins during the summer of 2025. Starring alongside John will be Richie Campbell (Top Boy, Stephen) who plays DS Glenn Branson, Zoë Tapper (Liar) as Cleo Morey, Laura Elphinstone (Chernobyl) as DS Bella Moy, and Brad Morrison (Outlander) as DC Nick Nicholl. The series is based on the best-selling novels written by globally renowned author Peter James (https:// Additionally, as filming is about to commence on series 6, series 5 of Grace will begin airing and streaming on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player in the spring. Commissioned by ITV’s Director of Drama, Polly Hill, and Drama Commissioner, Huw Kennair Jones. Huw will oversee production from ITV’s perspective. Huw said: “It's always exciting to return to Grace and the Brighton that Peter's brilliant stories evoke. That, coupled with the fantastic cast and crew who bring it all to life with such expertise means we're in for another great series for the ITV and ITVX audience.” Grace is a co-production between Tall Story Pictures, part of ITV Studios, and Vaudeville Productions. The Executive Producers are Phil Hunter for Tall Story Pictures, and Andrew O'Connor and Paul Sandler for Vaudeville Productions, Kiaran Murray- Smith, Peter James and John Simm. The recommission is testament to the amazing work the cast and crew do. Series 5, airing this spring on ITV, STV, ITVX and STV Player, will be based on Peter James’ novels, Dead If You Don’t, Dead At First Sight, Need You Dead and Find Them Dead.
