Iggy Azalea laughs off sex change rumours: "Am I still gonna get my Billboard Women in Music Award?"

Australian rapper Iggy Azalea has taken a light-hearted approach to commenting on internet rumours that she was born male.

The ‘Fancy’ star – whose real name is Amethyst Amelia Kelly – took to Twitter to have her say on online gossip that she changed her name and sex after being born as a boy named Cody.

Azalea wrote: “Wait, so I'm just now reading that I was born a man and my name is Cody?”

She added: “*Cackling* why Cody tho? Lol.”

24-year-old Iggy laughed off the rumours by taking issue with the false male name the stories have given her:

“I just don't see myself as a Cody. I'm more of a Liam, if had a penis. Liam Azalea.”

The ‘Problem’ Aussie continued to joke with her 3.46 million Twitter followers whilst on her way to last night’s (December 12) Billboard Women in Music Awards where she collected the Chart-Topper accolade.

Iggy mocked: “Am I still gonna get my billboard women in music award tomorrow, now that I supposedly have a penis or nah?”
