Iggy Azalea was 'catfished' by her own mother

Rapper Iggy Azalea has revealed that she was once 'catfished' by her own mother.

During an interview with Power 106's The Cruz Show, the 'Fancy' superstar confessed that her mum set up a Twitter page where she posed as a super-fan and was able to easily fool her:

"She's been like catfishing, I know that for sure. There was this one fan and I'm like 'oh I like this fan, this fan's cool, I'm going to add them' and then she texted me and was like 'um, you know I'm Azalean for Life, right? That's me.'"

Azalea, meanwhile, quit Twitter earlier this month and described the social networking movement as "the ugliest reflection of mankind there is". She later confessed that her creativity has improved since leaving the site

"Anyone’s happier when they’re not being verbally abused all day long. I think it is dangerous to have that kind of negative Internet culture. It’s isn’t all [like that]. But I think it’s dangerous, especially when you’re someone that’s having to create things… It does affect your mood, and it, for me, definitely affects when I’m creating things. And I’m in the middle of recording a second album, and I really don’t want some angry, aggressive album. Every time I come in the studio I’m like, I just wanna punch everyone in the face. And those are the only songs I’m able to write."
