Iggy Azalea: 'I really want to be focused on what I'm doing'

Australian rapper Iggy Azalea recently shocked fans by quitting social media and handing her Instagram and Twitter accounts over to her team, and she has now revealed that it was a necessary step in order for her to progress.

Speaking to AMP Radio this week, the 'Fancy' superstar explained that comments from strangers were starting to get to her and all of her positive energy was slowly deteriorating, which was not making for productive sessions in the studio so she decided to step away from the online world for the time being: "For me at the moment, I'm recording my album, I'm doing this tour. I want to make sure I'm in a good head space to where I'm not thinking about other people's opinions or what's going on in this in this other cyber-like world."

"I really want to be focused on what I'm doing and I felt like that was getting to a point where it was taking away my focus or taking away my positive energy—sucking it into this negative space that I don't want to be in."
