Iggy Azalea says she had a 'psychotic breakdown' last year

Iggy Azalea says she shelved a number of tour dates last year because of mental health struggles.

The rapper told the new issue of Schön Magazine that she had a "breakdown" ahead of a world tour due to fatigue.

However, the 25-year-old is now in the right frame of mind to hit the road.

Azalea said: "I had to have a psychotic breakdown last year, now we’re going to do North America and the rest of Europe, which I didn’t feel like I was in the place to do that last time.

"I felt tired and stressed out. Now, I feel like my energy’s been renewed."

In the same interview, the rapper said she struggled to cope with being in the media spotlight - something which is now more palatable.

The Australian said: "It made me feel very out of control of my own life or my ability to have my own perception of who I was.

"You don’t want someone else writing your narrative and making you the villain. Then I just realised that, you know what, you can’t control it and I think I accepted that and moved on to living my life."

Azalea meanwhile unveiled her new single 'Team' today (March 18).

It is the latest track to be taken from her upcoming second album 'Digital Distortion'.
