James TW, the 20-year old British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has released his brand new single, “Say Love,”the first new music from his upcoming debut album which is expected later this year.

Driven by warm guitars, a climactic groove, and stadium-size beats, “Say Love” finds James’ voice teeming with intense energy, vulnerable emotion, and seismic soul.  As he tells his fans, “‘Say Love’ is about the balance of excitement and patience when it comes to pursuing a new relationship.  I cannot wait for the fans to hear this new song and the others to follow." 

James has been performing as main support for Andy Grammer’s The Good Parts Tour 2018, since the North American tour opened in San Francisco on March 14th.  After a side trip around the Netherlands this weekend, James rejoins Grammer at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit on April 3rd for the final 9 cities, including such venues as Washington, DC’s 9:30 Club (April 10th), the Paradise in Boston (13th), and New York’s Irving Plaza (14th).  The tour wraps up at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadel­phia (15th).  Please see tour dates below.

On April 15, 2016, exactly two years before that Philly show, James dropped his 6-song debut EP on Island, First Impressions, containing “When You Love Someone.”  The next day, James hit the road as sole support on Shawn Mendes’ Illuminate World Tour, the superstar’s sold-out 38-date tour across Europe and North America. (Prior to the tour, James opened Shawn’s sold-out headlining concert at New York’s Radio City Music Hall in March.)  In January, James performed “When You Love Someone” on NBC’s The Today Show, and on NBC Universal’s Ellen; watch the latter performance HERE.

James has earned such praise as “incredibly talented” (Huffington Post), “one of the most com­pelling young musicians you’ll come across” (Reinvent), “undoubtedly one of the UK's brightest musical hopes“ (Spotify UK), and “inspiring and ridiculously talented" (from Shawn Mendes himself).  In addition to logging over 200 million global audio streams for “When You Love Someone” (a Top 30 hit at Hot AC), the VIDEO also boasts over 10 million YouTube views.  James’ cover of Natalie Imbruglia’s "Torn," another track from the First Impressions EP, has over 35 million global streams after hitting Top 30 on Hype Machine, and making Spotify’s U.S. and global Viral Top 20.  First Impressions, which also includes “Naked,” “Sanctuary,” “Different,” and “10k Hours,” has over 400 millioncombined streams to date.

ABOUT JAMES TW:
With his infectious blend of troubadour spirit, jazzy soul, and funk attitude, James TW packs a powerful punch, a soulful singer-songwriter with a big voice and even bigger aspirations. Raised in the small English village of Warwickshire two hours outside of London, he was named after James Taylor, his parents’ favorite musician.  In addition to JT, he was exposed to primary influences John Mayer, Jamie Cullum and Ed Sheeran, later discovering Otis Redding, Donny Hathaway, James Brown, B.B. King, and Bill Withers on Spotify.  Naturally gifted, he picked up guitar at age 12, and piano the following year. A bluesy, jazz-tinged singer-songwriter style began to emerge, but he forever considers himself, “a musician first who became a singer.”  As he honed his skills as a multi-instrumentalist, James began to post cover songs on YouTube, including a standout take of Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” in 2012.  The videos showcased an undeniable talent with immense technical aptitude and a voracious will to learn.  Meanwhile, his profile quietly rose as a fervent fan base rallied around him online.

Signed to Island Records in 2015, James unleashed a string of scorching singles beginning that year with “Black & Blue.”  2016’s “When You Love Someone” turned the tide, amassing over 200 million global streams to date.  His 6-song First Impressions EP, including “When You Love Someone,” has accumu­lated over 400 million combined streams to date. Non-EP tracks “Please Keep Loving Me” and “For You” both surpassed 18 million streams in 2017. Despite (or because of) his youth, James’ undeniably roman­tic lyrics offer a distinct point of view, conveying an incom­pa­r­able wisdom about love, heartbreak and the world around him.  Widely appealing but hardly typical, his songs demonstrate critical elements of experi­enced songwriting that resonate with ease, with weight and a sense of staying power that is rare in today’s pop music, “the missing link between Laurel Canyon and Motown.”
