Jackson Wang and Galantis release new single and 'Pretty Please' music video

Global megastar and multihyphenate Jackson Wang has teamed up with the multi-platinum dance-pop duo Galantis to debut an exhilarating new dance anthem and music video for 'Pretty Please', via 88rising and distributed by 12tone. Listen here and watch the striking new video below.

The 'Pretty Please' music video - directed, written, and edited by Jackson himself - is an homage to the classic Hong Kong Chinese films he grew up watching.

Wang’s high energy choreography is performed alongside the globally acclaimed dance group and frequent collaborators Kinjaz. Coupled with Hong Kong Chinese cinematic elements and powerhouse beats, Wang displays his globally-minded approach to dance-pop music.

Throughout the video, Wang showcases the symbolism of wolves' loyalty to their lovers, an anecdote of his chase for his one true love. The ambiguous ending leaves the audience to decide for themselves if this has all been a dream, as the closing scene returns to Wang sitting at the restaurant.
On 'Pretty Please' Wang says: "This collaboration with Galantis is an honor.

"It’s been fun working with them and I can’t wait to meet them as soon as possible." He continues: "The song itself is a love story about me falling in love with a girl and confessing how much I adore her. I wrote the treatment, directed the video visually and creatively, and edited it.

"Growing up as a kid, I watched a lot of Hong Kong Chinese movies, which were the visual inspirations for this music video. I’ve admired so many actors in those movies, and I thought it’d be interesting to present this love story in the 90s Hong Kong Chinese vibe, mood, and tone."
Christian from Galantis explains: "I was stoked to be able to collab with Jackson, as I’m such a big fan of his. Jackson sent me an idea that was so unique and I immediately fell in love with the song thinking about all the creative possibilities."
'Pretty Please' comes on the heels of Wang’s hit single '100 Ways,' which has pierced the cultural zeitgeist since its March release, amassing over 175 million plus streams and making Jackson the first Chinese Solo Artist to enter Mediabase’s Mainstream Top 30 Chart, reaching #24 on the chart.
