James Arthur has declined the chance to appear on Celebrity Big Brother.

The singer, who won the UK X Factor in 2012, was offered the opportunity to take part in the TV talent show's next series.

However, he said on Twitter that he turned it down. Posting in response to a Daily Star story, Arthur said:

"Rule me out of that I am not doing CBB. I'm a big fan but I have turned down an offer from them."

The previous Celebrity Big Brother was won by comic and TV man Jim Davidson.

The singer meanwhile was dropped by record label Syco earlier this year after releasing only one album.
