Can James Arthur crack America? Forbes magazine weighs in

Singer-songwriter James Arthur is enjoying an incredibly successful return to music with his chart-topping album Back From The Edge and smash-hit single "Say You Won't Let Go", and Forbes magazine believes he has what it takes to crack the American market if he remains focused

In a new editorial, Forbes explores the potential held by the talented musician and concludes that there is definitely a gap in the market for an artist like James Arthur:

"Arthur actually benefits from the fact that few people in the United States are already familiar with him, as it means that the controversy he’s had to live through likely won’t be much of a factor when it comes to his potential ascension on this side of the Atlantic. Now that he seems to be more in control of what he says, both in song and on Twitter (where he has also gotten into his fair share of trouble), he and his new record label Columbia might push “Say You Won’t Let Go” in a meaningful way, knowing that his past problems might just remain a thing of the past for an audience that is just getting to know him for the first time."

"While similar-sounding celebs like Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith are busy crafting their next albums, there seems to be a space in the musical landscape for someone like James Arthur to succeed and build a brand in a new territory, if he can only focus on the music and not get himself into any more trouble."
