James Arthur set to perform on X Factor despite public protest

James Arthur looks set to appear on the UK X Factor this weekend despite a protest to block his performance.

A Facebook group entitled Drop Homophobe James Arthur from X Factor has gained over 11,000 likes after gay slurs appeared in a rap diss.

The X Factor 2012 winner is due to perform on the show on Sunday (December 1) but his comments have caused concern.

However, it seems Arthur will still be performing despite the public reaction. A spokesperson said:

"Both ITV and the producers of The X Factor would like to make it clear that in no way do we support, condone or share any form of homophobia or discrimination."

They continued: "Following his comments James has since apologised last week, making it clear that he did not mean to cause any offence and explaining the context behind his remarks."

Arthur meanwhile was recently told to take a rest after suffering from exhaustion. The news came after the rap diss and a series of spats on Twitter.
