James Bay reveals how he came to perform live with Justin Bieber

Musician James Bay has opened up about how he came to perform live with Justin Bieber at this week's BRIT Awards in London.

The pair teamed up for a performance of Bieber's 'Love Yourself' and 'Sorry', and he told Newsbeat that he just happened to be in the right place at the right time:

"I met him at four in the morning at an Italian MTV EMA party. He was very good on the pool table, that's the first thing I noticed."

"He was a lovely guy but I've seen him and his manager at other different points along the way and became more and more friendly." Bay added that it was then just a simple question that secured the deal: "They were in a spot for this show where they needed a guitar player and it was kind of a 'hey do you fancy doing it?'"
