Jay-Z heading for first UK No.1 album with 'Magna Carta Holy Grail'

Rap heavyweight Jay-Z is on course to score his first ever UK No.1 album this week with his latest full length release, which is "comfortably outselling" its nearest competitor according to the Official Charts Company.

'Magna Carta Holy Grail' debuted at the top spot on today's midweek chart update (July 10), pushing Mumford & Sons' 'Babel' down 3 places to No.4. Passenger's 'All The Little Lights' has climbed 4 positions to No.3, Ciara's self-titled new offering has made an appearance at 35, and '18 Months' by Calvin Harris has shot up to No.21.

Elsewhere in the Top 40, Kanye West's 'Yeezus' is up 1 to No.20, Imagine Dragon's 'Night Visions' has risen an impressive 15 places to No.15, and 'The Weight Of Your Love' by Editors has fallen 12 spots to No.18.

The official positions for the albums will be confirmed this coming Sunday, July 14. Meanwhile, Jay-Z hosted a Twitter Q&A session recently and confessed that his favourite Britney Spears song is 'Toxic'. Upon reading this, Spears took to her social networking page and told fans that she was surprised by the revelation:

"You learn something every day! Never knew @S_C_ was a fan of Toxic! That's Big Pimpin ;)"
