Jay-Z has performed the marathon task of playing the same song for six hours.

The US rapper completed the feat at New York's Pace Gallery on Wednesday (July 10) as he promoted his latest album 'Magna Carta Holy Grail'.

The song in question was 'Picasso Baby', which features on the record and is set to be his next single.

Jay-Z was surrounded by fans and film cameras as he attempted the avant-garde art stunt.

He mingled with the curious onlookers and even took a performance artist up on 'stage' with him.

As previously reported, 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' is expected to hit No.1 in the UK albums chart when the official list is released on Sunday (July 14).
