American musician John Mayer has said that he will be trying to avoid a run-in with a famous ex-girlfriend whilst attending the Grammy awards tonight (February 8).

During an opening monologue for a recent episode of the ‘The Late Late Show’, 37 year old Mayer joked:

“You can see me at the Grammy Awards doing what I do best. Being avoided by Taylor Swift.”

Whilst dodging one ex-flame, Mayer has been full of praise for his on-off girlfriend Katy Perry and her recent Super Bowl half time performance.

Speaking about Katy’s show and her now infamous shark backing dancers, Mayer said: “It was unbelievable. And I think the whole thing about the sharks, everybody wants to talk about the sharks because it's just something everyone can grab onto because not everyone feels comfortable walking around saying that Katy Perry was amazing.”

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will be held tonight (February 8) at The Staples Center in Los Angeles.
