John Mayer has been opening up about his relationship with his current girlfriend, Katy Perry.

Mayer revealed that he feels that opposites attract as the differences between his and Perry’s personalities are what make their relationship work.

The American singer-songwriter told Rolling Stone: “The fact that we're on such different sides of the coin actually keeps a lot of conflict at bay.”

He also expressed how intersted he is in his girlfriend’s career: “She's a whole different vibration of what's going on, and I'm totally supportive. I can say, ‘Hey, how was work?’ and really wonder how work was. It's a nice existence.”

Despite Katy Perry’s level of celebrity, John Mayer stated that he is no longer concerned with fame.

The ‘Your Body Is A Wonderland’ musician explained: “How great is it to not have to think in terms of ubiquity? That s**t was hard, man! I didn't have any fun when I was trying to keep [my fame] elevated. It's almost impossible. It's Sisyphean. Now, playing shows is all the fame I need.”

John Mayer recently praised Katy Perry’s latest single ‘Roar’ as he said “millions of people are going to be dancing on tables to that.”
