Kate Bush steals the midweek No.1 slot from Adele

News emerged yesterday, May 17, that Kate Bush had taken an early lead in the UK albums chart with 'Director's Cut' and this was confirmed in the midweek update this afternoon.

The iconic singer has shot straight in at No.1, replacing Adele's '21', although the Official Charts Company says the pair are currently "neck and neck" so it will be interesting to see who steals the top spot when the positions are confirmed on Sunday, May 22.

Friendly Fires have entered at No.4 today with their highly-anticipated 'Pala', Lady Gaga's debut record, 'The Fame', has climbed an impressive 22 places to sit comfortably at No.11 and Moby's 'Destroyed' has made an appearance at 29.
