Katy B trying not to overthink tomorrow's Mercury Prize ceremony

Katy B is determined not to psyche herself out ahead of tomorrow's Mercury Prize ceremony, for which she has been nominated.

The 'Lights On' star was shortlisted for her album 'On A Mission' and she will compete against the likes of Adele's '21', Tinie Tempah's 'Disc-Overy' and Elbow's 'Build A Rocket Boys!' for prestigious prize that will be given on September 6.

She told the Daily Star newspaper, "I’m trying not to jinx the occasion by thinking about it too much. I know I’ll slip up if I overthink things.”

"I was out shopping with my mum on Friday and, while she was trying on a top, I tried to think about what I should say if I win."

“Mum put £20 on me to win a few weeks ago when I was 14-1.”
