Sony Classical and Charlotte Hawkins today announce the release of brand-new podcast ‘Last, Past & Blast with Charlotte Hawkins’ [08.09]. The weekly podcast is available now on all streaming services with new episodes released every Tuesday. Listen BELOW.

Each week, Charlotte’s debut podcast will see the leading journalist, radio and television presenter sit down with a special guest to explore the moments and memories around three key pieces of music from the guest’s life. This will include “Last”, the latest piece of classical music the guest has been listening to and “Past”, a significant piece of classical music, which influenced or changed their life. For the third piece of music, guests will pick a “Blast”, a track from any genre they love to blast out or have a blast to - expect some guilty pleasures, unexpected song choices and entertaining anecdotes alongside.

With a host of very special guests lined up for Season 1, Charlotte will be joined by Alexander Armstrong, host of ever-popular quiz show ‘Pointless’, for ‘Last, Past & Blast’’s very first episode. Upcoming guests will include singer and fellow Classic FM presenter Myleene Klass; American composer and conductor Eric Whitacre, known for creating global phenomenon ‘The Virtual Choir’; the world’s fastest growing classical artist Alexis Ffrench; Grammy-Award winning violinist Nicola Benedetti; pianist, composer and activist Chloe Flower, plus many more.

'Last, Past & Blast’ is part of Sony Classical and Charlotte Hawkins’ exclusive new partnership. An avowed classical music lover, Charlotte, known for presenting ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’ and Classic FM’s ‘Smooth Classics’, is working closely with the team at Sony Classical to create a captivating collection of personally curated playlists, albums and podcast episodes. These will all be specially designed to share Charlotte’s deep love of classical music and highlight some of her most treasured pieces with a wide audience, bringing classical music to new audiences, while helping to develop and support young talent.
