Wednesday 24 February, London: On this week’s episode of Jools and Jim’s Joyride, Jools Holland and Jim Moir, AKA Vic Reeves, are joined by high-flying musician and composer, Nitin Sawhney.

In episode five, Sawhney, a multi award-winning musician and composer with 10 studio albums and dozens of film and TV scores to his name, recounts his powerful meeting with Nelson Mandela and his even more powerful fear of spiders:

‘I was in the back of the car on the motorway and at the time I could not deal with the idea of a spider being in a confined space with me. So, a spider came down from the roof of the car in front of me and instead of doing what a normal person might do, wave it way or whatever, I tried to get out of the car in the middle of the motorway!’

During the show, the group try to get to the bottom of Stone Henge’s travel logistics and what Jools’ bandmates really spoke to Bill Clinton about. Meanwhile, Jim recounts his time on Who Do You Think You Are, revealing his eccentric ancestry from a Penny Farthing champion to Edward VII’s bedroom guardian.

Nitin Sawhney is currently producing on Jools Holland’s forthcoming album, expected later this year.
