LeAnn Rimes' new album includes a track that she wrote with her former husband.

The country star split from Dean Sheremet in 2009 and promptly moved on to current partner Eddie Cibrian after having an affair with the actor.

Speaking on Chelsea Lately, Rimes admitted that her new album 'Spitfire' actually features a song that was penned by herself and Sheremet. She said:

"I did write a song with my ex-husband - that was, like, seven and a half years ago...It just kind of fit the story of the record."

The singer continued: "It was actually supposed to be on a different record before and we pulled it off, and then it just worked for this record. I didn't have to, like, approve it or anything. I think he approves."

'Spitfire' was released in the US on June 4.
